What is a Head Spa and what should I expect?

Did you know the skin on your scalp ages 6 times faster than on your face? Like you would have a skin care routine for your face, a Head Spa is a scalp care routine to support healthy hair growth.

A Head Spa is a treatment primarily focused on the scalp to support healthy hair growth. It is designed to cleanse, stimulate and nourish the scalp and hair follicles as well as release tension in the fascia tissues. At Aura Head Spa, your treatment is performed by a Certified Trichologist and you can expect a scalp scrub exfoliation, deep cleansing and hydrating cleanse with slow and relaxing massage techniques; alongside the use of specialised massage tools, water therapy utilising our specialised halo machine and steam infusion.

What are the benefits of a Head Spa?
Benefits of a treatment with us at Aura Head Spa may include; improved blood circulation to the scalp, improved scalp health by reducing scalp impurities, removal of product build up during our scalp scrub exfoliation and deep cleanse process, strengthening hair follicles to promote healthy hair growth as well as immense relaxation and stress relief.

What products do you use?
Our hair and scalp products are all salon quality, vegan and have been carefully chosen to suit a wide range of hair and scalp types. Our products are Sulphate free, Paraben free and Salicylic Acid free.

Can men have a head spa?
Yes of course, all our treatment services cater to both women and men.

Can I have a Head Spa if I have Psoriasis or Dandruff?
Our products are gentle, low irritant and cater to a range of scalp issues to remove scalp build up and soothe inflammation. If you have an active break out, your scalp has open wounds, severe inflammation, or broken skin, it is best to wait until the condition is more managed to avoid discomfort to your scalp.

Should I wash my hair before a Head Spa?
It is completely up to you; you will benefit from a treatment with clean hair or with hair that is not washed prior to your appointment.

What hair types and hair styles do you treat?
We understand that each individual is different, so we cater to a diverse range of hair types and styles. This includes if you have had keratin straightening, hair colouring and hair extensions (please note: with hair extensions we may not be able to use all our massage tools during your treatment. We unfortunately cannot service locs or braids.

Can I get a Head Spa if I’m pregnant?
Our treatment requires you to lay on your back for the length of your treatment; if you are uncomfortable doing so, you may consider booking a treatment when you feel more comfortable. If you have any concerns, we recommend consulting your doctor beforehand. All our products are safe to use during pregnancy.

Will you blow-dry my hair after my treatment?
Heavy heat styling is not recommended for at least 24hrs after a treatment. All our treatments include a simple dry-off (no styling included) and we ensure that you won’t leave with dripping wet hair.

How long do I have to use my treatment package?
You have a period of 6 months to use your treatment package
